Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about our wax guards for hearing aids – use, compatibility and ordering.
Fit & compatibility
Which wax guard fits my hearing aid?
Clear Filter wax guards come in five sizes (1.3 to 3.0) that cover the most common manufacturer systems:
| Clear Filter | Replaces, among others |
|---|---|
| Clear 1.3 | CeruStop, ProWax MiniFit, NanoCare, WaxGuard |
| Clear 1.7 | HearClear, CeruShield Disc |
| Clear 2.1 | NoWax, ProWax |
| Clear 2.3 | HF4 wax guard, QuickGuard |
| Clear 3.0 | HF3 wax guard, CeruStop XL |
What do the sizes 1.3 to 3.0 mean?
The number stands for the size of the wax guard and replaces well-known systems such as CeruStop, ProWax, NoWax or the HF mesh guard. Five sizes cover twelve common wax guard systems.
Use
How do I replace the wax guard with the Clear Tool?
With the Clear Tool you can easily remove the old wax guard and insert a new one – no additional tool is needed.
Important tip: Push the tool straight (axially) into the wax guard. Only a subsequent quarter turn makes the tool grip the wax guard. Most customers overlook this step at first – without the quarter turn the wax guard cannot be held securely.
How often should I replace the wax guard?
This depends on the individual amount of cerumen. As a rule of thumb, we recommend replacing the wax guard as soon as it is visibly soiled or hearing performance deteriorates.
Sustainability
Why is CerumClear more environmentally friendly than other systems?
With CerumClear only the wax guard itself is refilled – carriers and dispensers are eliminated entirely. This avoids around 99.97 % of the carrier and packaging material that is otherwise used.
Ordering & reordering
What is included in the Clear Box Starter?
The Clear Box Starter contains all five wax guard sizes plus five matching Clear Tools in a reusable box with clearly separated compartments – the ideal way to get started.
How can I reorder wax guards?
Individual wax guard sizes can be reordered at any time without having to buy the complete box again. The shop is currently available in German only – you can also reorder by e-mail at info@cerumclear.de.
